Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce
For many years with the help of our business members, we have been actively helping the community, sponsoring events, shows and student scholarships.
As a way of helping our community grow, every year we produce a Community Shopping and Service Directory, outlining important information and who our members are and what they do. More recently we have updated the format of this directory which is now called the "Shop Local. Enjoy Local." guide. We encourage the citizens of our towns and the surrounding areas to shop locally availing themselves of the extensive variety of products, specialty items, and professional services offered right here in Thornwood, Hawthorne and Valhalla. Putting local businesses at your fingertips, the "Shop Local. Enjoy Local." guide is an even greater opportunity for our residents to discover local businesses and support our Chamber Members.
We continue our leadership role in civic, social and community programs, fostering greater interaction between many varied factions of our Towns, the Chamber and our member businesses. We continue our commitment to our theater program, senior citizens, and youth programs, scholarship awards, co-sponsorship of the 4th of July Celebration, the Fall Foliage Festival, Memorial Day observances, as well as projects enhancing the beauty of our Towns, and other worthwhile activities. In 2014, we partnered with the Hawthorne Fire Department to co-sponsor "Mt. Pleasant Day," which has quickly become a community favorite event and now an annual tradition.
We thank our members for their support, participation and input. Together we will insure the continued growth and advancement of our Chamber for years to come. We encourage the community to patronize our members, who without them, everything we do would not be possible. Membership Networking Meeting are held quarterly at various Member locations. Please contact us for more information or to be added to our email list.
