Pleasantville Children's Center
A Focus on Community
Since its inception over 45 years ago, PCC has been focused on the families and community it serves. Events such as the annual Fall and Spring Picnics, Pajama Party, Cocktail Party and Library Art Show, put the children and their families in touch with one another outside of the school environment. We're proud to say that many long-lasting friendships (both child and adult) have been developed through the school!
Our History
Founded in 1972 by a group of mothers working together at Reader’s Digest and looking for a truly special place for their children to learn and grow, Pleasantville Children’s Center has provided a nurturing environment for our community’s preschoolers for almost four decades. While our educational methods have evolved, our fundamental philosophy remains the same: early childhood growth through a planned curriculum emphasizing self-expression, discovery, and problem solving with the goal of fostering a life-long enjoyment of learning. We also strongly believe in the importance of social development in early childhood. The friendships and community connections that your child will build at PCC will be one of their most valuable and lasting treasures.
Our Parents
Parents are also an integral part of the PCC community. A volunteer board of directors, made up of dedicated parents, runs our school. Through participation in school-day and PCC community activities, parents have the opportunity to take an active role in their children's preschool experience and perhaps even form some lasting friendships of their own.
