American Legion Adolph Pfister Post 1038 Valhalla
American Legion Post 1038 has received many awards and commendations for helping the veterans at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System in Montrose, and for supporting community programs and charities. We proudly hold the charter for the Valhalla Boy Scout Troop 1, participate in the American Legion's prestigious Boys State Program, run a huge food drive and monthly donation to the a VA Montrose Food Pantry for unemployed veterans, host VA patients at our Post for luncheons, BBQs, haircuts and so much more!
Auxiliary Unit 1038 participates in the Girls State Program, prepares and ships care/goodie boxes to active duty troops in war zones, and supports many other programs.
Every year Post 1038 organizes and hosts the Valhalla Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. All are welcome back at the Post afterwards for hot dogs, ice cream and refreshments! Veterans Day and Flag Retirement ceremonies are also annual events.
