Throughout the story, Katsa grows as a character and becomes more confident in herself and her abilities. The ending is very satisfying, and the books that follow are of the same quality.

This is one of my favorite books and a part of my favorite series! The book is very well written and the plot is easy to follow. All of the characters have significance and there are very few dull moments. The cover art for the book is amazing. The fandom surrounding it is small but that’s not always a bad thing. I absolutely recommend the rest of the Graceling series. It has a diverse cast of characters who are believable and never dull. I recommend this book to everyone I know!

If you like fantasy that isn’t as heavy as Game of Thrones or as kid-centric as Percy Jackson, this is an excellent book for you! It has a good balance of action and adventure, romance, and comedy. If you’re a fan of well-developed fantasy worlds, the enemies-to-lovers trope, and books with a series to follow up, this is a must-read!
