One of Us is Next is the sequel to "One of Us is Lying" and has just as much mystery and suspense as its predecessor. This story is told from the perspectives of three high school students: Maeve, Knox, and Phoebe. Just eighteen years after the death of Simon Kelleher and his popular gossip app, a new game has started at Bayview High School. After a game of truth or dare is started over text, everyone in Bayview wants to know who is responsible.
The three main characters join forces to find out who is behind this new game and to take this person down after some of their most personal secrets are exposed to the entire school. This book is full of shocking twists and will surely keep you on the edge of your seat.
This book was by far one of the best I have ever read. The reveal at the end was so unexpected and the plot was always interesting. I loved how complex each of the main characters were and the fact that the story was told from each of their perspectives allowed the reader to truly understand their thoughts and feelings during each event that took place throughout the course of the novel. I really liked seeing how their friendship developed throughout the story. In addition, I also loved how each character had their own individual conflicts and character development that made them more relatable and multidimensional. As a fan of mystery and suspense, I thought this book did an incredible job of creating and interesting and unique story that was never boring or predictable. I truly could not put the book down and loved every moment and plot twist.
This book is great for any young adult reader who loves mystery, suspense, and drama. If you are looking for an interesting story full of surprising twists, then you should read this book.
